Dear Parents,

It was good to see so many parents at the Meet the Teacher events this week. We always value feedback about how you feel your child is doing or how we can work together better. Thank you for putting aside time in your busy schedules to come. If these days were not convenient for you we would be pleased to offer you an alternative. Please make sure that you have collected your child’s reports if you did not attend.

Book Week

27th until 31st January will be ‘Book Week’. We will be doing many activities to encourage our children to develop a love for reading. Each class will choose an author and read books written by them. We will be decorating the school with the work we do.

Bring your favourite book or story to school

We would like to ask the children to bring their favourite book or story to school. It can be in English or their home language.

Dress up day Friday 31st January - 9.15 am

On Friday the children are invited to dress up as their favourite storybook character. You are invited to come to see our special book day parade and look at the work that the children have been doing in class. Last year we were amazed at how creative everyone was and some of our staff enjoyed dressing up as much as the children!

Parents read a story

We are also looking for volunteer parents to come and read or tell a story to the children. This could be a traditional story or a picture book in any language. Please let your class teacher know if and when you would like to do this.

Best wishes,

Alison Ocak
