Reception 2 class is preparing their "big book project" for that reason we created a special activity that intentionally designed and invited our students to enjoy, understand the sequences and get a meaningful experience in order to create a story based in that.
Reading books aloud "The little red hen ( makes Pizza)" for example, discussions about questions such as: " how do we make a pizza ? and what do we need for it?, and meaningful experiences " make a real pizza in class", enlarge students vocabularies and develop concepts of sequence, narrative and basic knowledge of books.
We as teachers help our students to focus and seek deeper understanding by providing models of questions to ask, and then guiding them toward information that will answer their questions.
